Wadel, David Nye
July 29, 1933 - November 6, 2022
David Nye Wadel, 89, of Washington Boro, PA, passed from time into eternity on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Pinola, Franklin County, PA, to the late Harry S. and Emma (Shetter) Wadel on July 29, 1933 and was the loving husband of Ruth (Blank) Wadel, with whom he spent more than 68 years.
He was a life-long farmer and a member of the Blue Rock Mennonite Church, where he served as a minister, and a bishop of the broader Susquehanna District (EPMC).
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Marlin and Denise (Leaman) Wadel of Wolcott, VT; Clair and Susan (Risser) Wadel of Washington Boro, PA; Judith and Rodney Martin of Bridgewater, VA; Joy and Daniel Baltozer of Mount Joy, PA; Angel and Debbie (Babcock) Rivera of Lancaster, PA; a daughter-in-law, Donna Lois (Herr) Wadel of Washington Boro, PA; 33 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Doris Sollenberger of Waynesboro, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph, John, Joseph, Paul, and Mark; a sister, Gladys Halteman; a son, Paul, and a great-grandson, Gordon Cormier.
Public visitation and viewings will be held, Lord willing, at the Blue Rock Mennonite Church, 3453 Blue Rock Road, Lancaster, PA 17603, on Monday, November 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, at 10 a.m., at the Blue Rock Mennonite Church with interment in the adjoining church cemetery.

Warkentin, Shirley A. Miller
October 1, 1947 - October 7, 2022
Shirley A. Warkentin, 75, of Goshen, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at home.
She was born October 1, 1947, in Elkhart County to John E. and Beulah Dae (Leitch) Miller.
On August 17, 1968, she married Dan Warkentin in Goshen.
He survives along with a daughter, Janell Warkentin of Elkhart; a son, Lee (Susan) Warkentin of LaGrange; eight grandchildren, Clair (Justin) Mosher, Diseree Wilson, Becca Wilson, Alicia Warkentin, Pete Wolfinger, Alle (Dalton) Johnson, Ashley Warkentin and Alex Warkentin; eight great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Patsy McCrindle of Goshen, Linda Mathews of Middlebury, Ed Miller of Missouri, Dora Miller of Cromwell, Jay (Lisa) Miller of Colorado and John Miller of Texas.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Josiah Wolfinger and a great-granddaughter, Lilly Wolfinger.
A member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Shirley retired from Clausing Service Center in 2008. She had also worked as a librarian for Bristol Elementary School and Bristol Public Library.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 5 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Brenda Sawatzky Paetkau will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Miller 8 Square Cemetery.

Warkentin, Otto
March 27, 1932 - May 9, 2022
Otto Warkentin, 90, formerly of Ft. Wayne, died peacefully Monday, May 9, 2022, at Greencroft with his family at his side.
He was born March 27, 1932, in Laird, Saskatchewan, Canada to Cornelius H. and Pauline (Wurfel) Warkentin. He married Louetta Mae Nofziger on June 20, 1953, in Archbold, Ohio. She survives along with four children; Byron (Connie)Warkentin of Elkhart; Jon (Bettina) Warkentin of Nashville, Tennessee; Karlin (Joanne) Warkentin of Bradenton, Florida; and Andrea Strycker of South Bend; two brothers, David (Pam) Warkentin of Ottawa, Ontario; and Rudy (Donna) Warkentin of Port Elgin, Ontario; a sister-in-law, Kathy Warkentin of Lion’s Head, Ontario; and a brother-in-law, Paul Hershberger of Goshen. He took special pride and delight in each of his 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Mr. Warkentin was preceded in death by a sister, Elvira Hershberger; a brother, Henry Warkentin; and a son-in-law, David Strycker.
Mr. Warkentin obtained a bachelor’s degree from Goshen College and a master’s degree from the University of St. Francis. He was a licensed public school music teacher for kindergarten through grade 12 where he introduced innumerable students to the joy of music and playing an instrument. Playing cello, church hymnody, sailing, woodworking, and backyard birds were among his favorite pastimes.
Visitation will take place Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 9 a.m. (EST) until the 11 a.m. (EST) Celebration of Life service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Greencroft Chaplain Laura Moshier will officiate. The service will be live-streamed through the funeral home website, www.yoderculpfuneralhome.com.

Weaver, Amos B.
September 30, 1931 - November 2, 2022
Amos B. Weaver, 91, of Stevens, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at home.
He was born on September 30, 1931 to the late Amos W. and Anna W. (Burkholder) Weaver.
He was a member of Fairhaven Mennonite Church in Myerstown, PA, where he served as pastor for 28 years.
Amos was also a farmer, farming the same farm he moved to with his parents when he was ten years old. In addition to farming, he also had other business interests. He was a founding member and employed by Clay Trucking, Inc., and served as president of Stony Run Warehouse for a number of years.
Amos is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth L. (Hess) Weaver; three sons, Lynn (Barbara) Weaver of Jonestown, Ray (Mary) Weaver of Denver, Dale (Mary) Weaver of Watkins Glen, NY; two daughters, Marie (David) Dieffenbach of Ephrata, Karen (Leon) Kreider of Denver; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian B. Shaum of Columbiana, OH, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Emma Zeiset, Lizzie Oberholtzer, Mabel, Anna Mary, Esther, and Alta B. Weaver, and a granddaughter, Heather Dieffenbach.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM at the Fairhaven Mennonite Church, 801 S. Railroad Street, Myerstown. An additional viewing will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 9 to 10 AM at the Fairhaven Mennonite Church, followed by funeral services with Pastor Gerald Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the Lebanon Valley Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Weaver, Avinell Ketterman
June 29, 1932 - January 27, 2022
Avinell Ketterman Weaver, 89, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away Jan. 27, 2022, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
Mrs. Weaver was born June 29, 1932, in Pendleton County, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Burrell and Nida Bennett Ketterman.
She moved to Harrisonburg at a young age. She graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School and attended Eastern Mennonite College. Before retirement, she worked as a medical secretary in the office of the late Dr. James R. Brunk.
She was a longtime member of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church and was especially active in the Open Circle and in particular with hospitality. Avinell found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and a plethora of friends (special shout out to the 49ers). She enjoyed entertaining, traveling, reading, and watching sports. Her door was always open and was a home away from home for those in need of a listening ear and a glass of iced tea.
Surviving are four children, Judith Weaver of Harrisonburg, Herb Weaver Jr. (Anita) of Harrisonburg, Joyce Earl (John) of Roanoke and James Weaver (Ilsa) of Bridgewater; grandchildren, Tyler, Mikita (Steven), Anda (Andrew), Raven, Adam, Aaron (Jessica), Melissa, Tracy (Mark), Travis, and four great-grandchildren; sister, Sherry Brown; numerous nieces and nephews and the father of her children, Herbert Weaver Sr. of Bradenton, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Norman Ketterman, and sister, Thelma Brunk.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be planned at a later date.

Weaver, C. Irvin
April 18, 1931 - February 9, 2022
C. Irvin Weaver, 90, formerly of Fivepointville, PA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Fairmount Homes. He was the loving husband of E. Ruth (Hurst) Weaver, with whom he shared over 64 years of marriage until her death in 2016. Born in Martindale, he was the son of the late Walter and Mable (Snader) Weaver.
Irvin left a legacy as a man who loved the Word of God and demonstrated a life of integrity. He was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, and worked as co-founder of Weaver’s Store Inc., Fivepointville. He had a passion to build God’s Kingdom by his involvement in mission boards, Vacation Bible School Superintendent, and Christian school education. He was also involved in church planting in Tamaqua and Shiloh, Reading PA. He served as school board member with Gehman’s Mennonite School and was instrumental in founding Terre Hill Mennonite High School and serving as a board member. Additionally, he served on the board of Life Counseling Ministries for 22 years.
He is survived by seven children: Janet Sensenig, wife of Lowell, Mohnton, PA; Melvin H Weaver, husband of Jeanette, Reinholds, PA; Irvin Weaver, Jr., husband of Karen, Denver, PA; Ruthann Bartch, wife of Brian, Akron, PA; W. Ray Weaver, husband of Doretta, Reading, PA; Doris Wile, wife of Glenn, Cassville, NY; Nelson Weaver, husband of Melanie, Denver, PA; a son-in-law, Greg Law, Schwenksville, PA; 40 grandchildren and 77 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Betty Law; son-in-law, Dan Wile; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Weaver; a brother A. Earl Weaver; and a sister R. Irene Sensenig.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 14th at 10 AM at Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Rd., Ephrata with Eugene Weaver and David Sensenig officiating. Interment will be held in the adjoining cemetery. Viewings will be held on Sunday, February 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Monday 9-10 AM followed by services at 10 AM at the church. Weaver, Cleo J. Zwally
January 12, 1935 - July 23, 2022
Cleo J. Weaver of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, formerly of Ephrata, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 23, 2022.
Born in Akron, PA, she was the daughter of the late F. Lester Zwally and Florence (Hummer) Zwally and was the wife of the late Charles W. Weaver who was unexpectedly called home to heaven April 30, 1990.
She enjoyed spending time in her winter home in Sarasota, FL, and seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of Akron Church of the Brethren where she served as church clerk, treasurer and deacon.
Cleo is survived by her three sons, Gary L., husband of Dottie (Lausch) of Montana, David C., husband of Mary (Martzall) of Ephrata, and Thomas S., husband of Michele (Martin) of Maryland; nine grandchildren, Jared Weaver, Daniel Weaver, Jonathan Weaver, Christine Adams, Janessa Barrell, Samantha Johnson, Alison Hoover, Kayla Merkert, and Austin Eschenwald; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rhelda Mitchell of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Zora Wall of Lititz.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Jane Gerhard, Betty Mohler, Eugene Zwally, Erma Stauffer, Dorothy Mitchell, and Darlene Dull.

Weaver, D. Anne Harnish
November 20, 1933 - January 11, 2022
D. Anne Weaver, 88, went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2022, at Landis Homes, Lititz, where she resided with her husband of 65 years, Glenn H. Weaver. Anne was born and raised in New Danville, PA, and was the daughter of the late J. Lloyd and Elizabeth (Greider) Harnish.
She attended Harmony Hall, a one-room schoolhouse, graduated from Penn Manor H.S., and after completing one year at Elizabethtown College, worked as a medical secretary for two years. She heard her calling to become a nurse and entered the nursing program at Goshen College, earning her BSN in 1958. After graduating from college, Glenn and Anne made their home of 50 years in Blue Ball, PA.
Anne's nursing career started at Ephrata Community Hospital, then moved to New Holland Family Health Center where she worked until she retired.
Music was an important part of her life, starting in the late '60's she sang with the Lancaster/Franconia Choir. Many also remember the beautiful harmonies she created performing with a trio of friends.
Anne and Glenn were charter members of Akron Mennonite Church where they served on many committees and gave much of themselves to the work of the church. After her own children were grown, she dedicated 20 years of leadership and love to the youth of the church. Through her involvement with the Youth Group, she made lasting relationships with many young people that continued the rest of her life.
She was a strong advocate for higher education and an enthusiastic supporter of Goshen College. She served for several years with the Goshen College Alumni Association. Her passion for serving and helping others was embodied in her support of and work with Bridge of Hope National and Camp Deerpark (NY). Recently she was a volunteer at Reuzit in Ephrata.
An excellent cook, Anne and Glenn loved to entertain guests in their Blue Ball home with her favorite recipes, games and laughter. A meal at Anne and Glenn's was always a special event.
She enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed the time spent at the shore with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, David S. Weaver, Goshen, IN, Mark A. Weaver (Barbara), Lititz, Philip G. Weaver (Bonnie), Lancaster, Elizabeth A. Weaver, Lancaster, and six grandchildren.
Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Elizabeth (Dolly) Spence, and brothers, Carl and J. Lloyd Harnish, Jr.
The family would like to thank Hospice Services and the staff at Landis Homes and Landis At Home for their love and care of Anne. A memorial service will be held on a future date.

Weaver, Dwayne K.
February 2, 1990 - August 11, 2022
Dwayne K. Weaver, 32, of East Earl, died Thursday, August 11, 2022, as a result of an airplane accident in Metz, WV. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Nelson S. and Esther M. (High) Weaver. He was an active member of Blue Ball Mennonite Church and served in various ministry groups. He was anticipating a trip to Alaska with Moriah Ministries. He was very much involved with Fresh Start Counseling Ministries, Indiana, where he had served for three years. A relationship with God and his friends and family were top priority in his life, as was demonstrated by his service to his church and to the many struggling young men he walked beside. He lived life with purpose and left this earth on a mission living that purpose. He will be greatly missed by all at Sensenig’ s Feed Mill where he worked in shipping and receiving. He loved spending time hunting and fishing, and Jeep riding with his dad, brother Kendall and niece Maddie. He attended Pleasant Valley Mennonite School and was a graduate of Penn Foster Home School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Kendall R. married to Marie Weaver, Schoeneck, niece Maddie, and a paternal grandmother, Mabel Weaver, East Earl.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Rd., Ephrata with Joel Martin, Tim Weaver, and Nate Siegrist officiating. October 30, 1924 - April 7, 2022
Edna R. Weaver, 97, of New Holland, entered into the presence of her Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Garden Spot Village. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester M. Weaver, in 2002.
Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Clayton M. and Anna Mary (Hollinger) Martin.
She was a homemaker and a member of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community where she was a past-president of the ladies sewing circle. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and birdwatching.
Surviving are seven children: Sarah Jane married to Carl Zeiset, Mount Joy, Doris Jean married to Carl Hershey, Landisville, Daryl Eugene married to Bonnie (Herr) Weaver, Millersville, Cheryl Rose married to John Zimmerman, East Earl, Linford L. married to Linda J. (Fiorito) Weaver, Lititz, Elaine Walker, Lititz, Robert Lynn married to Dawn Louise (Bollinger) Weaver, Akron, 20 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and two brothers: Clarence Martin and Harold married to Edna Martin, all of Lititz.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law Jeffrey Walker, three grandchildren: Philip Eby Hershey, Brendan Weaver, and Conrad Weaver, a brother Raymond Martin, and sisters Mae Horst and Irene Good.

Elaine Marie Weaver, 80, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Fairmount Homes.
She was born in Blue Ball to the late Hershey and Lillian (Sensenig) Weaver.
She was a member of Hammer Creek Mennonite Church.
Elaine was a nurse's aide for Ephrata Community Hospital for over thirty years. After retirement she did home health for a few years.
Elaine is survived by her sister, Janet, wife of Mervin Gingrich of Lititz; two brothers, Donald Lee, husband of Jeanette (Heller) Weaver of Lititz, Delmar Ray, husband of Linda (Ginder) Weaver of Lititz; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Usner) Weaver of Stevens, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lamar Weaver.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, from 2:00 to 2:30 PM, at the Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, 590 Hammer Creek Road, Lititz, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 PM with Pastors Dustin Martin and Rick Newswanger officiating. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery.

Weaver, Elva J. Miller
March 29, 1935 - February 9, 2022
Elva J. Weaver, 86, of LaGrange, died at 5:40 am on Wednesday, February 9 at her residence, surrounded by her children. She was born on March 29, 1935, in Sumner County, Kansas, to Joni B. and Polly C. (Troyer) Miller. On January 13, 1955, in Lagrange County she married Vernon D. Weaver, he died November 22, 2020.
Surviving are four sons, Glen W. (Linda) Weaver, Wilmer (Mary) Weaver, David J. (Betty) Weaver all of Shipshewana, Vernon Jr. (Norma) Weaver of Middlebury; six daughters, Freda M. (David) Yutzy, Ella (Melvin) Yutzy, Alice (Glen) Bontrager, all of Shipshewana, Ida A. (Wayne) Lengyel, of Middlebury, Katie I. (Merle) Miller of Goshen, Joan (Joe) Troyer of Shipshewana; extended family member, Mary F. Raifsnider; 37 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; sister, Susie A. (Clarence) Schlabach of Dalton, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Martha Weaver; son, Floyd Weaver; granddaughter, Carolyn Miller; extended family member, Jack R. Raifsnider; three sisters, her twin Ella Hostetler, Minnie Bontrager, Anna Miller; three brothers, David, Christy, and Ray Miller.
Elva was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, and all day Friday, February 11 at the Eugene R. Miller Residence 7370 W. 050 N. LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 12, at the same residence. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana. Weaver, Emery C.
February 20, 1936 - March 24, 2022
Emery C. Weaver 86, of 6398 TR 413, Dundee, passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 24, 2022 after a period of declining health. He was born on February 20, 1936 to the late Christian P. and Sarah (Raber) Weaver. On April 17, 1958 he married Arie J. Miller who preceded him in death on August 22, 2021. Emery was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by his five children, Susie (Roman) Mast of Walhonding, Wayne (Mary) Weaver of Dundee, Dennis (Rosanna) Weaver of the home, Willis (Marilyn) Weaver of Dundee and Esther (Norman) Miller of Sugarcreek; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife Arie, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Martha, Elizabeth, Sarah, Anna and Andrew.
Funeral services will be held at the home on Saturday, March 26, at 9:00 a.m. with Bishop Reuben M. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Weaver Cemetery. Weaver, Esther Elizabeth Rudolph
January 28, 1929 - September 18, 2022
Esther Elizabeth (Rudolph) Weaver, of Shippensburg, PA , born January 28, 1929, died on September 18, 2022, at the age of 93 years, 7 months, and 21 days.
She was a member of Churchtown Mennonite Church. She was the daughter of Virlus F. and Susanna E. (Horst) Rudolph, and the wife of Chester C. Weaver, Sr.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons: Chester C. Jr. (Barbara), Itasca, TX, Ethan R. (Ruby), Newville, PA, Curtis A. (Janice), Carlisle, PA, and Nevin S. Ivan M. Weaver, 84, of Myerstown, PA passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 25, 2022. Ivan was the husband of Lena Mae (Redcay) Weaver, and the son of the late Ivan and Amanda (Martin) Weaver.
He was a member of Miners Village Mennonite Church. Ivan was the former owner of Weaver Insulators and Weaver's Dry Goods.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Daryl, husband of Darlene (Martin) Weaver of Myerstown, PA, Debbie, wife of Jerald Lauver of Fredericksburg, PA, Dawn, wife of James Gehman of Woodbury, PA , Dennis, husband of Regina (Freed) Weaver of Salem, OH, 29 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by four siblings, Abram (Irene) of Newville, PA, Harvey (Naomi) of Bernville, PA, Lavina of Newmanstown, PA, Clarence (Marian) of Newmanstown, PA, and a sister-in-law (Ezra) Edith Weaver of Bowmansville, PA. Ivan was preceded in death by his brother Samuel, sister-in-law Laura, brother Ezra, and four grandchildren.

Ivan Z. Weaver, 97, of 908 Centerville Road, New Holland passed away at home on Friday, March 11, 2022.
He was the husband of the late Lena W. Weaver who died in 1983 and the late Edna W. Weaver who died in 2008. Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Samuel O. and Mary Zimmerman Weaver.
Ivan was a farmer and after retiring from the farm worked at Weaver's Store in Fivepointville for 21 years. He was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are six daughters, Irene wife of Paul Horning of Shiloh, OH, Ada Mae wife of Jason Zimmerman of East Earl, Ellen wife of Chester Burkholder of Shiloh, OH, Mary Jane wife of Rueben Oberholtzer of Ephrata, Alta wife of Walter Horst, Jr. of Ephrata, and Marian wife of Marvin Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY; a son, Ivan Ray husband of Virginia H. Weaver, Jared Warren
August 27, 1980 - December 24, 2022
Jared Warren Weaver, 42, of Reinholds, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Fairmount Homes. He was born in Lancaster to Ervin and the late Margaret (Good) Weaver and was the husband of Carla (Weaver) Weaver with whom he shared 20 years of marriage.
A man of strong faith, he was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church, where he served as an associate Pastor for six years. He desired to see others grow in their relationship to Jesus and was dedicated to mentoring other's faith.
Jared was part of the ownership team for Deer Country Farm and Lawn. He served on the church relations committee at Hinkletown Mennonite School. He was an avid hunter, hunting in Alaska, Canada and throughout the United States. He loved spending time with his family, especially at the cabin.
In addition to his wife and father, Jared is survived by three children, Skyler Weaver, Brantley Weaver, Sierra Weaver; and two siblings, Kelli, wife of Dan Smith, Joe, husband of Beth Weaver.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Highway, Ephrata. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 9 to 10 AM at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM with Pastor Glenn Sauder officiating. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery.

Jeremy M. Weaver 23, of Holmesville, passed away peacefully with his family at is side on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 22, 1999 to Marvin and Naomi (Miller) Weaver of Holmesville who survive. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving wife Keri Ann Troyer whom he married on May 26, 2021. Also surviving are his brothers, Lamar, Nathan and Loran Weaver; grandparents, Daniel and Barbara Weaver of Holmesville, and Andrew and Marie Miller of Holmesville; parents-in-law, Alvin (Clara) Troyer of Holmesville; sister-in-law, Faye (special friend Mike) Troyer; brothers-in-law, Kyle and Jason Troyer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Lester Weaver.
Funeral services will be held at Holmes Stair, 8614 TR 561, Holmesville, on Thursday, November 24, at 9:00 AM with Bishop Ben Ray Hershberger officiating. Burial will follow in the Wengerd Cemetery. John A. Weaver, 87 of 7488 SR 514, Big Prairie, OH, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home after a period of declining health.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He was ordained a deacon in 1986.
Son of Andrew J. and Anna (Mullet) Weaver. He was born Dec. 13, 1934. He married Clara Yoder Weaver Oct. 8, 1957. Weaver of Fredericksburg; sisters, Fannie Miller of Shreve, Mary Hershberger and Mattie Barkman both of Danville, Ella Troyer of La Farge, WI, and a sister-in-law Verna Weaver Troyer.

Weaver, Kenneth James
July 5, 1931 - July 19, 2022
Kenneth James Weaver, 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at VMRC’s Brunk House, where he was a resident.
Mr. Weaver was born on July 5, 1931, in Lancaster, PA, to the late Martin Lloyd and Sara Stoner Oberholtzer Weaver Sr. He graduated from EMC (now EMU) and Goshen Biblical Seminary. He was the Director of Mennonite Broadcasts (now MennoMedia) for 35 years. He served on various institutional boards, including VMRC and EMU. He was a member of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church, where he served in many capacities, including chair of the building committee and church historian.
On June 11, 1953, he married June Marie Collins Weaver, who preceded him in death on August 2, 2013.
Mr. Weaver is survived by his children, Carol W. Eberly (Wendell) of Rockingham, James R. Weaver (Susan) of Rockingham, William R. Weaver (Dawn) of Mt. Crawford, Don E. Weaver (Pam) of Hesston, KS; brothers, Sam Weaver and Ron David (Susan); sisters-in-law, Sarah Weaver and Betty Lou Collins; brothers-in-law, Don Showalter and Ron Collins; grandchildren, Cynthia Morris (Matt), Jennifer Freed (Tim), Brian Weaver (Stephanie), Katie Howdyshell (Josh), Kara Ebersole (Drew), Julie Landis (Kendall), Benjamin Weaver (Alyssa), Rachel Weaver; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his siblings, Sara Jane Wenger and Martin Lloyd Weaver Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church with Pastor Craig Maven officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Laura (Martin) Weaver, 83, of Narvon, passed away on July 31, 2022 in her residence.
Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Edgar M. and Mary G. Martin Martin.
She was the wife of Frank N. Weaver, whom she married on June 6, 1959.
Laura was a member of Churchtown Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). She was a homemaker and assisted her husband with Weaverline and the custom combining business for many years.
In addition to her husband, Laura is survived by her children: Gilbert husband of Karen Weaver of Carpenter, WY, Rosalyn wife of Glenn Wenger of Richfield, PA, Kevin husband of Joyce Weaver of Richland, PA, Wayne husband of Esther Weaver of Honey Grove, PA, Lorelle Weaver of Tulia, TX and Frank Nevin husband of Kristina Weaver of Narvon, PA; 50 grandchildren and 96 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Willis Martin of Nottingham, PA, Arlene Weaver of Ephrata, PA, Lydia Kurtz of Ephrata, PA and Raymond husband of Elva Martin of New Holland, PA, and a son-in-law Gerald husband of Carolyn Martin of Womelsdorf, PA.

Lee S. Weaver, 86, formerly of N. Groffdale Rd., New Holland, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Fairmount Homes. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late James S. and Vera Leah (Stahl) Weaver.
Lee started working at the former Victor F. Weaver, Inc. in 1959, continuing with the company as it changed to Tyson Foods, retiring in 2005. One of his hobbies was traveling, especially in Europe.
He was a member of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community.
Surviving in addition to nieces and nephews are two stepbrothers, Walter Burkholder, Blue Ball and Vernon Burkholder, Ickesburg.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nora S. (Burkholder) Weaver, four siblings: Jesse S. Weaver, Wayne S. Weaver, Phoebe S. Hoover and James S. Weaver and two stepbrothers: Chester Burkholder and Delmas Burkholder.

Weaver, Mabel E. Breneman
October 6, 1921 - November 23, 2022
Mabel E. Weaver, 101, of Landis Homes, Lititz, formerly of Lebanon, entered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of Mark and Ella (Rohrer) Breneman. She was the loving wife of Marlin P. Weaver for nearly 69 years until his death in 2011.
Mabel found joy in her role of wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy of faith, love, prayer, and devotion will be remembered. She was an active member of Gingrichs Mennonite Church, Lebanon, having served as the treasurer for over 20 years, taught children's Sunday School, cleaned the church building, and served on the fellowship/kitchen committee. Her precision and organization facilitated her skill as an exceptional bookkeeper/secretary for the family business, Weaver Farms Inc. She was known by her family, neighbors, friends and caregivers for her profound sweetness, love, and graciousness. Her positivity and humor influenced everyone.
Recognized as an exceptional golfer, she played regularly in both PA and FL. She demonstrated exceptional skill in cooking, cleaning, sewing and playing Rook. She and Marlin were also very involved in the ministries of Black Rock Retreat and Laurelville Retreat Center.
She is survived by four children, J. Nelson (Christine) of Lebanon, Don (Lori) of Lebanon, Cheryl (Ben Landis) of Lancaster, and DJ (Gerald Kling) of Smoketown; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Breneman, Lititz and Marilyn Weaver, Bradenton, FL. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Breneman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a visitation on Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 6-8 PM at Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. 9th Street, Akron, PA. Fredericksburg - Mahlon K. Weaver, 57, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
Born in Jonestown on April 28, 1964, he was the son of the late Clarence N. and Mary H. (Kurtz) Weaver. Until recently, Mahlon was the owner/operator of F & W Auto, LLC in Fredericksburg.

Weaver, Martha Kauffman Coffman
December 17, 1921 - January 31, 2022
Martha Kauffman Weaver, 100, formerly of Atglen, died on January 31, 2022 at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata. She was born near Elverson, PA, to the late John Esch Kauffman and Malinda Kurtz Kauffman on December 17, 1921. She was married to David M. Weaver who died in 2012 and to H. Amos Coffman who died in 1991.
Martha earned a BS degree in elementary education from Eastern Mennonite University and obtained a Master’s degree in Education from Temple University. She taught at Mount Carmel Mennonite, Harrisonburg, VA, Manor Mennonite (Millersville), Plumstead Christian ( Plumsteadville, PA) and Ephrata Mennonite schools, retiring in 1987. She taught Sunday school at Sandy Hill Community Church (Coatesville) where she was a member, and vacation Bible schools in West Virginia and Tennessee. Martha was a freelance writer, and served on the board of St. David’s Christian Writers Association for 40 years, writing for church and secular publications, publishing several booklets of word puzzles and meditations. She visited church missions in Vietnam, Honduras, India, Jamaica, and Israel.
Martha is survived by a brother Timothy, husband of Ruth (Stoltzfus) Kauffman, Atglen, and a sister, Mary, wife of Luke Martin, Lititz, and sister-in-law, Marie (Wenger) Kauffman and Phoebe Coffman, both of Harrisonburg, VA. She was predeceased by siblings Anna, Lydia, Benjamin, and John Kauffman.
She is also survived by Coffman stepchildren: Ella Huber, Norman Coffman (Petrea), Julia Schlabach, Alma Coffman, Joseph Coffman (Kathy), and daughters-in-law Geraldine Coffman and Peggy Coffman; Weaver stepchildren: Anna Mary Wenger (Raymond), Elizabeth Bonnar (Kenneth), and Scott Burger, and by many step grandchildren. She was predeceased by stepchildren Irvin and Milton Coffman, also Dan Huber and Ivan Schlabach; and David, Jr., Harold, Ellen, Irene. and Harlan Weaver and Kathleen Burger.
The funeral service will take place at Groffdale Mennonite Church, 168 North Groffdale Road, Leola, PA, on Friday, February 4th, visitation at 10:00 AM, service at 11:00. Interment will be in the Groffdale Mennonite (Frame) Cemetery. Facial mask suggested.

Lena, WI - Martha Rose Weaver "Mother" age 70 years old of Lena, WI passed away peacefully at her daughter's home February 7, 2022. She was born May 18,1951 in Lancaster, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Elmer P. Jr. and Martha Weaver.
She is survived by three brothers, David L. (Marlene) Weaver, Timothy E. (Carolyn) Weaver, James C. (Twila) Weaver and two sisters, Mary Ann (Arlin) Miller and Rachel (Llewelyn) Miller. She and her husband David were married in PA and raised three children in the Wellsboro area where a house fire claimed the three children's lives.
They then moved to the Newville area where they raised 9 more children,7 sons, Jason (Lois) Weaver of Grand Junction, CO, Anthony (Katrina) Weaver of Fredricksburg, Pa.,Glendon (Hannah) Weaver of Maribel, WI Dale Matthew (Holly) Weaver of Blanford, Ma, Kevin Weaver of Bethel, PA, Justin Weaver and Andrew Weaver of Lena, WI, and 2 daughters: Janette (Nevin) Landis of Oconto, WI, Darlene (Daniel) Eberly of Louisburg, MO. 17 granddaughters and 15 grandsons
She was preceded in death 15 years and 2 days by her husband David K. Weaver. Three children: Daniel, Joyce, and Glen David; two brothers , E. Paul Weaver III, Daniel H. Weaver and sister Elizabeth (Weaver) Horst.

Patricia A. Weaver, 86, a resident of Fairmount Homes, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022.
She was the wife of the late Harlan M. Weaver who died in 2009. Born in Spring Grove, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Kathryn Sterner Stanton.
Patricia was a member of First Deaf Mennonite Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Nancy wife of Ronald Sweigart of New Holland, Debra wife of Marty Sisk of Canton, GA, and Rose wife of Herb Burkhart of Bird-In-Hand; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald Stanton of Edison, NJ. Weaver, Rhoda L. Hess

Rhoda L. (Hess) Weaver, 93, of New Holland, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2022 as a resident of Garden Spot Village. Born in Millersville, she was the daughter of the late Jacob G. and Katie (Charles) Hess. She was the loving wife of the late John J. Weaver, with whom she shared sixty-nine years of marriage until the time of his passing on October 15, 2018.
Rhoda was a member of New Holland Mennonite Church, where she served as a greeter, youth group leader, Sunday schoolteacher and helped in the kitchen. John and Rhoda owned and operated the Back Porch Gift Shop for twenty years. She volunteered in the gift shop at Garden Spot Village, in the New Holland ReUzit Shop and Meals on Wheels. She was known for her love of family, fun, faith, hospitality and pie making.
Rhoda is survived by her children: Patti wife of Glen Hostetler of Mount Joy, Scott Weaver husband of Lynn Sommer of New Holland, Pamela Cosco wife of Dale Kaufman of Elizabethtown and Wendi wife of Keith Arnold of Mount Joy. Also surviving are six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings: David Hess, Mary Weaver, Naomi Redcay, John H. Hess, Jacob Hess, Anna Lois Earhart and Orpha Weaver.

Ruth Ann Weaver, 67, of Port Trevorton, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at her home.
Ruth Ann was born April 22, 1955, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Daniel M. and Naomi (Kauffman) Weaver.
She was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church, Mount Pleasant Mills.
Ruth Ann was a caregiver to Dorcas Graybill.
She is survived by her five siblings, Lois (John) Schrey of Port Trevorton, Paul (Diana) Weaver of Wautoma, Wis., Earl (Elizabeth) Weaver of Liverpool, Miriam Riehl of Port Trevorton, and Orpha (Anthony) Zimmerman of Mount Pleasant Mills; 29 nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and nephews, and six great-great nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Weaver; a brother-in-law, Paul Riehl; and three nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Monday, Aug. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 1377 Martin Brothers Road, Mount Pleasant Mills. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Shade Mountain Mennonite Church, 134 Center Road, Mount Pleasant Mills, with the Bethel Mennonite Church Ministry officiating.
Burial will be in Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills.

Ruth Ann (Hoover) Weaver, 75, of East Earl, passed away on February 9, 2022, in her residence.
Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Elam M. and Ruthanna (Good) Hoover.
She was the loving wife of the late Benjamin S. Weaver, with whom she married on May 20, 1967, and shared fifty years of marriage until the time of his passing on January 28, 2018.
Ruth Ann was a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). She was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed sewing and quilting comforters for her grandchildren, making cards and completing puzzles.
Ruth Ann is survived by her children: Edwin H., husband of Carolyn (Sensenig) Weaver of Loyal, WI, Erma H., wife of Verlin Shirk of Manheim, PA, Ezra H., husband of Linda (Martin) Weaver of Romulus, NY, Eli H., husband of Naomi (Martin) Weaver of Loyal, WI, Eugene H., husband of Dorene (Garman) Weaver of Thorpe, WI, Eunice H., wife of Kevin Burkholder of Neillsville, WI, Elaine H., wife of Nathan Weaver of Carlisle, PA, Elvin H. Weaver, of East Earl, PA, and Earl H., husband of Roberta (Martin) Weaver of Loyal, WI. Also surviving are thirty-two grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a brother, Elam G. Hoover, and a brother-in-law, Rufus Musser.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Mary Ella G. Musser.

Violetta M. Weaver, 93, of Lititz, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, April 26, 2022. She was born in East Earl, PA to the late Charles B. and Susan E. (Schaeffer) Stauffer. She was the loving wife of the late Norman W. Weaver for almost 70 years, who passed away in 2019.
Violetta was a member of Crossroads Community Fellowship (formerly Hess Mennonite Church). She worked for Heagy Meats as a clerk for 38 years and volunteered at the Re-Uzit for 32 years. She enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and gospel concerts. Most of all Violetta enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be remembered for the annual Christmas cookie bake.
Violetta is survived by her children: Shirley Garman (Robert) of Lititz, Kenneth E. Weaver (Deb) of Lititz, Jane Pfautz (Jeff) of Ephrata, Glen N. Weaver (Mary) of Lititz, Galen L. Weaver (Bobbi) of Stevens, Daryl M. Weaver (Kim) of Lititz, Diane Baldridge (Greg) of Tulsa, OK; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Jane (late Lester) Wenger. Virgil Dean Weaver, 77, of Wooster, OH, passed from this life in the early hours of Friday, July 22, 2022, after a 2 year cancer journey.
He was born Feb 6, 1945 to the late Elam & Lydia (Imhoff) Weaver. On June 11, 1967 he was united in marriage to Janet Begly. She survives. They were blessed with 55 years together. He accepted Christ as his Lord & Savior in his youth, and was a member of Chester Christian Fellowship church at the time of his passing, and was also ordained a minister of the Gospel in 1999. He was a certified auto technician who enjoyed working on cars, and seemed to have the ability to fix most anything! His Godly example was a blessing, and we will greatly miss him!
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters and a son, Kathy Weaver of Wooster, OH, Shari (Kervin) Zimmerman of Wisconsin, Keith (Rhoda) Weaver of Florida, & Gina (Keith) Wise of Perrysville, OH; 19 grandchildren, Kristen (Gregg) Leslie; Kyle, Jared, Jolinda, Brianna, & Miciah Zimmerman; Sierra, Lakeesha, Kaiden, and Antawn Weaver; and Tameshea, QuShon, D'Shaelyn, Tamariah, Jakashia, Qutaya, Jakim, Dayneiqua, and Shadejah Wise; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan & Juliana Leslie. He is also survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Harvey (Ina) Weaver, Melvin (Ruth) Weaver, Elam (Martha) Weaver, Edith (John) Peterson, and Naomi (Junior) Richard; sister-in-law, Doris Weaver; and brother-in-law, Dana Good.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister, Elmer Weaver, Roy Weaver, & Lydia Ann Good.

Weaver, Virginia Elizabeth Grove
October 1, 1922 - September 20, 2022
Virginia Elizabeth Grove Weaver, 99, of Dale Enterprise, passed away on Sept. 20, 2022. She was born Oct. 1, 1922 in her Uncle Charlie Grove’s house by the railroad tracks in Lyndhurst, Va., the only child of Earl L. and Elizabeth Maude Heatwole Grove.
Virginia loved Jesus Christ and all people unconditionally, and lived a life of service. She graduated from EMHS in 1939 and the RMH School of Nursing in 1946, where she met lifelong “sisters” Laura Mae Mathias, Ola Zimmerman, and Martha Showalter. She received a BS in Biology from EMC in 1952.
On March 14, 1946, she married Richard S. Weaver (W3HXH) who passed away July 27, 2014. After a honeymoon at Sparkling Springs, Virginia and Richard returned to Kalispell, Mont., where Richard was Camp director and pilot trainer for the CPS Smokejumpers unit and Virginia was Camp nurse.
In 1948 Richard was ordained to the Mennonite ministry and their first assignment was in Job, W.Va., from 1948-52. Virginia ministered alongside Richard at Mennonite churches in Job, Lambert, and Whitmer, W.Va. Virginia taught Sunday school and for many years returned to W.Va. to teach summer Bible school in the area of Job and the Osceola schoolhouse. All her life she had great love for “those West Virginia hills” and the people she met there. From 1958 to 1972, Richard and Virginia ministered alongside African-American leaders at Broad Street Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg. This was an intentionally racially integrated church during the days of legal Jim Crow segregation in order to show that the love of Jesus Christ is for all equally. Richard and Virginia also participated in the Rockingham Council on Human Relations, an interracial group of community leaders that helped to plan peaceful racial integration of Harrisonburg and Rockingham schools in 1968.
Virginia’s long career as a registered nurse included caring in the RMH ER for victims of the gas explosion at Pauline’s Beauty Shop in 1947, teaching young women prenatal and child care for the Public Health Service, and caring for the elderly at Virginia Mennonite Home and Camelot Hall Nursing Home. She also became volunteer caregiver and advocate for many ill or elderly relatives and friends. In 1958, she was caring for her Aunt Annie L. Heatwole, who had breast cancer. Annie survived and later wrote in her diary that, “During my sickness I realized that I had many generous friends. Virginia Weaver, my niece, was so very wonderful to me.”
Virginia and Richard loved to travel the country with their Airstream trailer, visiting 49 states, Mexico, and most Provinces of Canada, often visiting friends and relatives. She was also an avid local historian, friend of John W. Wayland, helped to preserve much Valley, church, and family history, and was an early board member of the Brethren and Mennonite Heritage Center. Virginia was a 5th generation member of Weavers Mennonite Church.
Throughout her life, Virginia actively helped her family to maintain the Dale Enterprise Weather station, started by her grandfather, L. J. Heatwole, with continuous daily records from 1868 to the present.
Virginia is survived by a son, Robert E. Weaver, Dale Enterprise, daughter in-law, Anne Weaver, Rockingham, granddaughter, Kimberly Weaver Rocco (Joe), San Rafael, Calif., and grandson, Richard Scott Weaver, Harrisonburg. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Zoe, Zack, Zane, Zeno and Zeta-Rose Rocco, all of San Rafael, Calif., and Juniper Noelle Weaver, Harrisonburg, and also many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Conrad Weaver, on April 15, 1999.

Wilbur Lee Weaver, 61, of Howe, died at 12:22 pm, on Sunday, August 14 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born on May 5, 1961, in LaGrange, to David Jr. and Martha (Schrock) Weaver.
Surviving are his mother of Shipshewana; two sisters, Mary Etta (Ben) Mullet of Milford, Vera (Steve) Chupp of Shipshewana; three brothers, Verlyn (Deborah) Weaver, David Jr. Weaver both of Topeka, Maynard (Linda) Weaver of Goshen; 18 nieces, six nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Darrel Weaver.
Wilbur was the owner/operator of Weaver Construction and previously attended Maple Grove Church in Topeka.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:30 pm and 5:30 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 17 at Shore Church, 7235 W. 100 N., Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 18 also at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Vern Hostetler. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana. J. Mervin Weiler, 90, of Morgantown, was welcomed to his eternal home on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at his home. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Edith V. (Martin) Weiler.
Born in Morgantown, he was the son of the late Jacob B. and Mabel G. (Good) Weiler.
Mervin was a farmer, worked at C. U. Stoltzfus Mfg., at Tel Hai Retirement Community, and was a member of the White Deer Hunting Camp. He was a member of Churchtown Mennonite Church. He also volunteered much of his time to Morgantown ReUzit Shoppe.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Dale married to Mary (Sweigart) Weiler, East Earl, Don married to Phyllis (Weaver) Weiler, Morgantown, Dean married to Kathy (Burkhart) Weiler, Morgantown, and Darlene married to Ben Martin, Lancaster, 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and a sister, Ruth W. Stoltzfus, Honey Brook.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Martin, and three siblings: Warren Weiler, Esther Overgaard, and Ralph Weiler.

Wenger, Donald Lee
June 7, 1939 - September 19, 2022
Donald Lee Wenger, 83, of Port Republic, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at his home. Don was born June 7, 1939, at Spring Hill and was the son of the late Jacob A. Wenger and Margaret Acker Wenger.
Don lived most of his life in the Port Republic area and was a 1957 graduate of Montevideo High School. He had previously been employed at Cross Keys Farm Bureau, Walker Manufacturing and E.I. Dupont.
On Sept. 4, 1960, he married Jane Jarrels Wenger, who survives. They had just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Don was a member of the Mill Creek C.O.B. He was a strong believer in serving and had been a volunteer for the Brethren Mennonite Center, the Grottoes Food Pantry, a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and spent many weeks serving as a volunteer for the Brethren Disaster Service following numerous storms and floods.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his three children, A. Wenger, Jon T. Wenger of Port Republic and Bethany W. Prevatt (Bob) of North Garden, Va.; two sisters, Nancy Howell (Jay) of Newport News and Margaret Sheridan of Harrisonburg; a granddaughter, Maggie Jane Prevatt of North Garden, Va.; two brothers-in-law, Norman B. Jarrels of Mount Crawford and Arthur Frazier of Elkton; sister-in-law, Dorothy J. Goyer (Ron) of Moneta; a number of nieces and nephews; and a Fresh Air daughter and longtime friend, Vickie Long Nikol (Bob) of Smithtown, N.Y. Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by his older sister, Corrine Wenger Frazier.
A memorial service for Don will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at the Mill Creek C.O.B with Pastor Glenn Bollinger and Pastor Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be private at Mill Creek.

Elizabeth A. Wenger, age 75, died peacefully at her residence in Goshen, on July 9, 2022.
Liz was born August 18, 1946 and lived her whole life in Goshen. She was a graduate of Bethany Christian High School and attended Goshen College. Liz was an artist, specializing in needlepoint. She relished the opportunity to engage in conversation on literary, artistic and theological topics with those who passed through her door.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. C. and Ruth Detweiler Wenger and a brother John Paul Wenger. She is survived by brother Daniel (Anita) Wenger and sister Mary (J. Denny) Weaver, nieces, nephews and a wide variety of friends from different walks of life.
She was a member of College Mennonite Church.

Hazel Charlene Wenger, 103, a resident of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022. Mrs. Wenger was born July 6, 1919, in Dayton and was a daughter of the late William Rhodes and Annie Elizabeth Jones Rohrer.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church.
On Feb. 20, 1940, she married Paul Rhodes Wenger, who passed away Aug. 29, 1943.
Surviving are two daughters, Neva E. Horst and husband, Daniel H., Ellen R. Zimmerman and her late husband, Harvey N. Zimmerman, all of Dayton; three sisters, Ethel M. Wenger, Evelyn Wenger, Annie V. Wenger and husband, Neil; sister-in-law, Ruth Rohrer; grandchildren, Wendell Horst, Winston Horst, Gilbert Horst, Galen Horst, Philip Horst, Luke Horst, Lewis Horst, Joseph Horst, Paul Zimmerman, Jeffrey Zimmerman, Sharon Wenger, Samuel Zimmerman, Michael Zimmerman, Emily Shank, and Lydia Beery; 69 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great- grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wenger was preceded in death by three infant siblings; siblings, Ruby Martin, Evangeline Horst, Gilbert Rohrer, Frank Rohrer, Grace Showalter, Alice Heatwole, Joseph Rohrer, and Daniel Rohrer; brothers-in-law, Raymond Wenger, Lloyd Wenger; and four great-grandchildren.
The ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Kathryn Martin Wenger, 65, of Liverpool, entered into rest Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at her residence surrounded by family.
She was born May 27, 1957, in Lancaster County, a daughter of Anna Z. (Martin) Wenger of Liverpool and the late James S. Wenger.

October 7, 1935 - April 27, 2022
Leon J. Wenger, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Ephrata, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
He was born in Stevens to the late Norman G. and Florence E. (Zuck) Wenger.
Leon was a carpenter for Wickes Lumber and then a self-employed remodeling carpenter. After retiring, he was the custodian at Middle Creek Church.
He was an active member at Middle Creek Church and served as a trustee for many years. He enjoyed singing in the Middle Creek Male Quartet. He also enjoyed gardening and helping others.
Leon is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine (Bollinger); five children, Grace (Steve) Robuck, Glenda (Rodney) Meyers, Doris (Dennis) Bender, Dean (Sharon) Wenger, and Gloria (Kenton) Martin; ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Lois Romberger, Marian Mumma, Claude Wenger, Glenn Wenger, and a great-grandson.
A viewing will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM, at the Middle Creek Church, 351 Middle Creek Church Road, Lititz. An additional viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 9 to 10 AM, at the church, followed by funeral services at 10 AM, with Rev. Paul Brubaker and Bro. Nathan Meyers officiating. Interment will take place in the Middle Creek Cemetery.

Wenger, Mary Jane Stauffer
June 11, 1931 - December 31, 2022
Mary Jane Wenger, 91, of Manheim, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Goodville, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Susan Sheaffer Stauffer. She was the loving wife of the late Lester S. Wenger who died in March of 2010 following 60 years of marriage. Mary Jane worked alongside her husband on the family farm in Rapho Township; she also was employed in the food service department at the Manheim Auto Auction for 40 years. An active and faithful member of the former Erisman Mennonite Church, Manheim, she and her husband volunteered as youth leaders in their early years. Her interests included: cooking, baking, flower gardening, traveling, reading, playing the piano and daily walks with her dog. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and cherished the time she could spend with her family that she deeply loved.
Surviving are two daughters: Linda S. wife of Edwin L. Bentzel, June F. wife of Clair E. Nolt all of Manheim, four grandchildren: Angela Bentzel Kline wife of Wesley Kline, Bobbi Bentzel Mendez wife of Richard Mendez, Janelle wife of Christopher Shelly, Jeffrey husband of Maria Nolt, six great grandchildren: Bentlee and Airabella Mendez, Marissa, Josiah, Elias, and Andrew Shelly. Preceding her in death is a son, Robert "Bob" Wenger, three brothers: Harry, Lester, Melvin Stauffer, and a sister, Violetta Weaver.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary Jane's funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Whisler, Gerald M.
July 28, 1944 - November 8, 2022
Gerald M. Whisler, 78, of Mount Joy Twp., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Landis Homes. Born in Elizabethtown, he was the son of the late Florence S. (Myers) Whisler and Amos G. Whisler. He was the husband of Joyce E. (Nauman) Whisler for 54 years.
Gerald was a member of Elizabethtown Mennonite Church. He was a long-time active member of the Elizabethtown Mennonite church cemetery committee where he was responsible for the grounds and records. He was a dairy farmer and cattle hauler and especially enjoyed attending various cattle auctions.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children. Sandy, wife of Linn Fahnestock, of Manheim, Julie, wife of Rich Fainter, of Virginia, and Jeff, husband of Kate (Hershey) Whisler, of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren; and two siblings, Jean, wife of Thomas Koser, of Millerton, and Marian, husband of Donald Brubaker, of Landisville.
The family would like to thank the staff of Landis Homes for their tender care in Gerald's final days.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday afternoon, November 12, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, 300 S. Spruce Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. There will be no public viewing. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends at the church from 1:30 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private in Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery. Wickey, William A. "Bill"
April 9, 1929 - March 6, 2022
William A. Wickey, age 92 of Centreville, passed away at St. David's of Round Rock Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas.
William was born a son to the late August and Pauline (Miller) Wickey, on April 9, 1929 in LaGrange, Indiana.
On January 1, 1953, William married Florence Miller at Locust Grove Mennonite Church in Burr Oak, Michigan. They would go on to enjoy 69 years of marriage.
William owned and operated his contracting company "Bill the Builder" and built homes for 40 years. When he wasn't building houses, Bill Pastored at South Colon Mennonite Church and Maple River Mennonite Church in Brutus, Michigan.
William was known best for being a loving father and a skilled carpenter. William was adventurous and very generous with his time.
William is survived today by his wife, Florence Wickey of Centreville; children, Nathan (Billi) Wickey of Indian River, Faith Wickey of Centreville and Pauline Wickey of Seattle, Washington; a granddaughter, Keeli Veltkamp; 3 brothers, Ervin, Wickey of Burr Oak, Edwin Wickey of Burr Oak and Joe Wickey of Geneva, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, August and Pauline, William was preceded in death by his siblings, Chris Wickey, Mary Jane Eichorn, Barbara Hochstetler, John Wickey and Paul Wayne Wickey.
The Wickey family will receive friends and relatives from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 29525 Findley Rd, Burr Oak, MI 49030. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., also at Locust Grove Mennonite Church, with Pastor Jim Gerber officiating.
Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at church.

Wilson, Roma J. Weldy
June 16, 1935 - January 7, 2022
Roma J. Wilson, 86, of Goshen, died Friday, January 7, 2022 at her home.
She was born June 16, 1935 in Elkhart to Ray and Erma (Stauffer) Weldy.
On December 4, 1955 she married Gerald A. Wilson in Wakarusa. He preceded her in death last year.
She is survived by three sons, Kent (Darlene) Wilson and Gregory (Kimberly Evans) Wilson, both of Goshen, and Jeffrey Wilson of Cromwell; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis, Dewey and Harry Weldy; a sister, Irene Elliott; and a great grandson, Mason Alan Wilson.
Roma was a 1954 graduate of Elkhart High School. Following her marriage, she and Gerald served as missionaries in Puerto Rico from 1956-61.
Mrs. Wilson held many titles during her life; she worked for the Elkhart County Extension Office; owned and operated a convenience store; was a gift shop clerk and Avon representative.
A member of Pleasant View Church, Roma sang in an octet for several years, performing programs for other churches. She was also a Red Hat Society member for several years.
Visitation will be Friday, January 14, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Pleasant View Church, 58529 C.R. 23, Goshen.
A funeral service will be conducted at the church, Saturday, January, 15, 2022 at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen.

Adamae S. Wise, 47, of Reinholds, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at her home.
She was born in Memphis, MO to Edna (Martin) Sensenig and the late Barton Sensenig and was the wife of Charles L. Wise.
Adamae was a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference), Narvon.
In addition to her mother and husband, Adamae is survived by 4 sons, Jason S., husband of Brenda Z. (Weaver) Wise, Justin S. Wise, Lynford S. Wise, Matthew S. Wise; grandson, Kyler Jansen; 6 siblings, Irvin M. Sensenig, Ellen M., wife of Mark O. Hoover, Barton M., husband of Pauline W. (Weaver) Sensenig, Carl M., husband of Julia M. (Wenger) Sensenig, Lamar M., husband of Wilma M. (Wenger) Sensenig, and Edna Fay, wife of the late Galen M. Weaver.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Sunny Crest Homes, 2587 Valley View Rd., Morgantown. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19th, at 9:30 AM at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 980 Oaklyn Dr., Narvon, with Bishop Leon Zimmerman officiating. Wise, Esther Mae
August 18, 1947 - October 19, 2022
Esther Mae Wise, 75, of Reading, formerly of Reinholds, passed away peacefully in her sleep early on October 19,2022. Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Anna Mary (Groff) Wise.
Surviving Esther are three sisters, Ruth Ann Horning, Sara Jane Moyer (Harold), Doris Jean Kardos (Glenn), and two brothers: Paul Eugene (Brenda) and James Lamar (Linda), and a sister-in-law Mary Ann Wise. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Ray Wise and a brother-in-law, Harvey W. Horning.
In younger days, Esther embroidered many quilts. She enjoyed baking, going for walks, and reading, especially her Bible.
All services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Martindale Mennonite Church Cemetery. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, is in charge of arrangements.
Wise, Leah Jane
March 15, 2021 - April 11, 2022
Leah Jane Wise, 1 year and 27 days, beloved daughter of Jonathan and Krista (Martin) Wise of Loysville, PA. Leah was born March 15, 2021, in Shippensburg and was called home to the Lord April 11, 2022, shortly after being taken to UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.
Surviving with her parents are her brothers and sister, Jordan, Lydelle and Emily; her maternal grandparents, Nelson and Velma Martin of Annville, paternal grandparents, Elvin and Nora Wise of Blain; maternal great grandmothers, Eva Jane Martin, Newmanstown and Elsie Hursh of Ephrata, paternal great grandparents, Edwin and Ida Wise of Lititz; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey, who was stillborn and maternal great grandfather, John Elam Martin and maternal great grandfather, E. Mervin Hursh.

Paul Wayne Witmer, 93 of Goshen, passed away at his residence Sunday, January 2, 2022. He was born January 4, 1928 in Goshen, IN to Walter and Alma (Shaum) Witmer. He married Edna Fay (Wenger) Witmer on August 14, 1949.
Surviving is his wife Edna of Goshen, 5 sons Max (Vicki) Witmer of New Madison, OH, David (Donna) Witmer of Elroy, WI, Galen (Joyce) Witmer of Goshen, Timothy (Beth) Witmer of Goshen, Stanley (Kim) Witmer of North Manchester, 20 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Mary Hoover of Goshen and Mable (Roger) Skiles of Wakarusa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 siblings, Isaiah Witmer, Anson Witmer, Catherine Zimmerman, great grandchild Theodore Miller and step great grandchild Dylan Morrison.
Paul was a dairy farmer and volunteer fireman for Harrison Township Fire Department for 28 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time and attended the Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
There is a visitation from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St. Wakarusa, IN 46573. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church. The home ministry will officiate, and burial will follow at the church cemetery. Witmer, R. Naomi Shank
May 12, 1929 - August 30, 2022
R. Naomi (Shank) Witmer, 93, of Lancaster, entered into peace on August 30, 2022 at the Mennonite Home where she was a resident for many years. After years of living with Alzheimer's, her mind and body have been joyfully restored. Born May 12, 1929 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Esther M. (Gerlach) Shank.
She was the loving wife of the late J. Donald Witmer, who she married on February 14, 1953 and shared 60 years of marriage until the time of his death in 2013.
At the time of her passing, she was a member of New Covenant Mennonite Fellowship Church. Previously, she was a member of River Corner Mennonite Church where she was a dedicated quiz team coach for many years. A life-long learner, one of her proudest moments was earning her bachelor's degree in education from Millersville University in 1995. She and her husband were farmers most of their lives, primarily raising tomatoes. She enjoyed playing games, completing word puzzles, traveling and telling jokes. Her knowledge of the Bible was impressive, and she and her husband completed the Liberty Home Bible Institute in 1980 where they both received diplomas in General Bible Knowledge.
Naomi is survived by her daughters: Ruth Ann, wife of John D. Kulp, of Harleysville; Marian J. Witmer of Schwenksville and K. Sue Witmer of Lancaster; her daughter-in-law Rachel Brubaker of Spokane, WA; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. Also surviving are her siblings: Dorothy M., widow of Melvin Martin, of Conestoga; Esther, widow of Elvin Sangrey, of Lancaster; and J. David, husband of Janice Shank.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she is predeceased by her son: Dennis E. Witmer and her brothers: Harry G., husband of Marie Shank, and E. Benjamin, husband of Arlene Shank.
A memorial service is planned for 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at River Corner Mennonite Church. Interment was held at New Covenant Mennonite Fellowship Cemetery on Friday, September 2, 2022.

Witmer, Wilda G. Knicely
August 23, 1935 - July 13, 2022
Wilda G. Witmer, 86, of Mount Crawford, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Sentara RMH Medical Center due to a head injury from a fall.
Mrs. Witmer was born in Dayton on Aug. 23, 1935, and was a daughter of the late Lewis and Elizabeth (Koogler) Knicely.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pike Mennonite Church.
On Oct. 22, 1958, she married Amos H. Witmer, who preceded her in death on May 3, 2018. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lou Witmer Kinsinger, on March 19, 2021.
Surviving are her children, Emily Witmer and Michael Witmer, both of Mount Crawford, Janice (Everette) Orebaugh of Mount Sidney, Clyde (Lorraine) Witmer of Dayton and Kathy (Brian) Rau of Weyers Cave; sister, Ellen Rhodes of Dayton; brother, Amos Knicely of Dayton; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two siblings, Orpha Heatwole and Byard Knicely; brothers-in-law, Paul Heatwole and Neil Rhodes; and sisters-in-law, Nellie Knicely and Martha Knicely.
The ministers of Pike Mennonite Church will conduct the funeral Monday, July 18, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 17, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the church.
